Surprised I wrote a holiday song? Me too! To be honest, I've never been a huge holiday music guy, but this year more than ever, the standards just didn't seem like they'd cut it. Most of us won't be home for Christmas, and it's tough to be holly jolly when you're quarantining far away from everyone you love. So I wrote "Merry Christmas, I Guess" for all the folks who will be spending this holiday season on their own. Perhaps you're a frontline worker, perhaps you're immunocompromised, perhaps you've lost a friend or family member, or perhaps you're just being responsible and hunkering down at home. Whatever the case, it's okay if everything doesn't feel warm and fuzzy this December. Just remember that even if you're on your own for the holidays, you're not alone, because we're all in this together.
